Story

Anna Giannis blends her natural flair and timeless style to your brief, whether residential or commercial, to designing an interiors space that is all about the atmosphere you want to achieve. Taking into consideration the finished desired look, requires insuring every meticulous attention to detail is measured, to create a harmonious space.

Anna Giannis has been passionate about interior design ever since she could remember. She is an international designer having worked in New York, Shanghai and Dubai but relatively still an enigma on the local design scene. She has however won a few awards for her work in Australia at the Fashion Expose in Melbourne winning the Best Display award and for the Q1 Spa on the Gold Coast for designing the furnishings to create a glamorous feel.

Born in Australian, Anna also is a second generation Greek. She studied Arts at La Trobe University and later in life, Interior decoration at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Melbourne. She often laughingly states that “she inherited the creative gene pool exclusively from both of her parents and not her two sisters much to their dismay”. Her father was a skilful furniture maker, then later turned builder and her mother a hard working seamstress. It is not surprising that Anna’s world was inevitably going to resonate between design and textiles.

Anna launched Anna Giannis Interiors in New York, after moving there in 2008. Her office was on 5th Avenue looking directly at the Empire State Building, which she recollects was purely magical. Living and working in New York for three years is undoubtedly her proudest moment in her career to date. New York was the hub for work between The Americas and the rest of the world. Commissions to collaborate with companies in China and the Middle East came about from there. She worked on many different projects across many different time zones, simultaneously and loved it. It was here that Anna launched her own Bed linen and Cushion collection. She also collaborated with major department stores such as Maceys and Bloomingdales to create successful Homeware collections.

Her work has been featured in international and local publications including Home Textiles Today and LDB Textiles for her Homewares collection. Anna participates and visits many of the international design events on the calender, such as the Salone di Mobile in Milan, the High Point Market in North Carolina, at Heimtextile in Frankfurt and Abitare Il Tempo in Verona. Recently her work is featured in many local real estate publications as she redesigns and performs makeovers for property’s for sale.

Anna’s passion for interiors extends to soft furnishings and other design disciplines. She collaborates with leading workrooms in Australia and creates bespoke Window Treatments, Furniture, Personalised Bedding and custom Homewares for her clients. It is here that her passion for texture, color and fabric truly shines. Her own signature collection of Homewares is available online and through specialised Lifestyle stores around Australia.

Her first book will be launched in the near future
